Fagerhult delivers form and function for resource centre
Fagerhult fittings have created a striking visual statement for the newly opened Crosshouse Resource Centre in East Ayrshire, Scotland, as well as ensuring that the lighting is highly efficient and effective. The circular, suspended Teres luminaire was selected for the two principle spaces of the building which combines a medical centre, council office, library and learning unit.

Fagerhult learn how to Shift Light
Fagerhult have developed LightShift a dynamic concept that can mix the colour temperature and intensity of the light source within the luminaire throughout the course of the day, in line with our experience of natural light. The luminaire is a unique collaboration between Fagerhults Beta louvre and microprism technology; both working in unison to enhance the visual experience and ensure user comfort.

Fagerhult are launching an interim catalogue to keep designers and specifiers up-to-date with their fast expanding product range. Fagerhult News is a new bi-annual amendment to the main Fagerhult catalogue which consolidates all new products and smaller additions to the existing Fagerhult stable in a compact and easy to hand format. Included within the catalogue are Fagerhult’s award winning luminaire Avion and the latest addition to the Art of Light range Gaudi; which is available in both standard T5 and LED variations.

Fagerhult’s new approach to the microprism
Fagerhult have taken their time in developing and designing their contribution to the microprism market. The result is Delta, a range of luminaires that completely optimises their microprism component. The technology behind the range has been specifically developed to enhance the benefits of using a microprism louvre within a product, optimising both visual and technical performance.

Fagerhult strive for weightlessness
The new suspended luminaire Avion is one of the most flexible products that Fagerhult have ever designed. The range consists of five different combinations of direct and in-direct distributions with each luminaire named after its contribution of direct light making it easy to specify. Avion can be used as a solitary statement fitting or as part of a continuous installation.

Next in the Masters of Light Season: Eliasson
Phillip Ursprung will be talking about the Danish-Icelandic artist Olafur Eliasson and his body of work on September 10th in Fagerhult’s London Light Studio. Much of Eliasson’s work is engaged in a dialogue with light. He is best known in the UK for The weather project, an installation at the Tate Modern in 2003 which attracted two million visitors.

Fagerhult Special in Radiance Award Project
Speirs and Major have won the IALD Radiance Award of Excellence for a project containing special luminaires from Fagerhult lighting. The entrance and atrium of 3 More London Riverside was awarded the prize at the awards dinner in May.

Fagerhult luminaires in award winning Inverclyde schools
Fagerhult have supplied luminaires for both the Inverclyde Academy in Greenock and the Newark Primary school, Port Glasgow. Inverclyde Academy won Studio E architects a Green Apple Award and Newark was shortlisted for the Scottish Design Awards. Products used in both buildings include DTI within the classrooms, the Pleaid downlight in circulation areas and a specialist sports fitting for the Sport Halls.

Fagerhult go back to school
Fagerhult Lighting is currently engaged in an exciting piece of new research regarding lighting for learning environments. The study assesses the influence that ambient lighting and algorithmic lighting controls can have on pupil alertness, health and learning achievements and is being conducted in a school in London. The study also looks at potential energy savings that could be made using algorithmic control.

As lighting requirements become more complex, the need for good visualisation tools increases. For this reason, the Lighting Concept Tool from Fagerhult was launched in 2008 to aid lighting planners in achieving successful designs. |
